Hi.
Dunno how many people on here use torrentspy, but there add partners are now serving adds with spyware and other bad code in them.
They have put a worning about this before the search results, including a link to a forum post that asks you to try and help them track down the culporit, but sadly the wornings on the same page that the ads are on, so its kinda to late.
To give you an idea, it made spybot find 6 problems one of which won't be fixed untill i go safemode.
Hoep that they get this sorted out soon and that noone else has visited them reasontly.
BEN.

Thanx for the Warning. I just wish I'd seen it sooner, because I visitted them recently, and that may explain why my outlook express is acting up.
I'll do a scan though and see what's going on.

I love kaspersky and peer guardian, they will block shit like that quick. I have no worries anyways cause I never use torrents yet.

Oh so that's why my comp's been acting weird. Grrr. And it's a new one too. I use antiVir pe Clasic... Will that help any?

And another question, whenever I type in a search term in google and mess up, I try to backspace to get to the wrong letter I typed to try to erase it and jaws won't read the letters to me. However, I can read the letters with the right and left arrow keys. Is it something to do with me going on to torrentspy? Or is it something completely different? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, peer guardian prevents computers within certain, predefined IP ranges from connecting to your computer in p2p sessions. The aforementioned ranges are thought to belong to the R I A and other such organizations.

In addition to a good antivirus program, it is equally important to have spyware protection. I'm using Counterspy and although I have to use the JAWS cursor to navigate around, I've found it to be very good.

Another really good weapon in the fight against spyware is to disable or at least set to prompting For the downloading of ActiveX controls. ActiveX is probably the most powerful method of installing spyware.

Although not allowing ActiveX will often cause the message that "the page may not display correctly", I am usually able to access the sites I visit without it.

In my opinion, there are very few occasions when you should accept ActiveX. Notably, these are media players embedded into Web pages and voicechat programs. In the case of embedded players, I open the page without accepting the ActiveX, view the source of the page and copy the direct URL into Media Player; this way, I can play the audio through my preferred sound card...

The settings for ActiveX are found in Internet Explorer under Tools, Internet Options and navigate to the Security page; it's a bit advanced...
